We are going to configure the router on a stick according to the below-given diagram.įirst of all, let’s configure VLAN on the switch The router on a stick is the virtual LAN configuration which allows you to add multiple VLAN to the single port of the router. In a normal scenario, if you want to add 10 VLAN to the router means you must need at least 10 physical port to the router, Am I right. It allows you to add multiple VLAN to the router with the help of a single port. This is the most popular concept in Virtual LAN configuration.
There's plenty to do and wfh offers so much more flexibility to enjoy life.In this post, we are going to learn how to configure Router on a stick ( Inter VLAN Routing). I was never one to count on coworkers to be my friend or introduce me to people so I've always made friends in other ways.Īlllll of the things! Go for mid-day walks, go out for brunch, go to happy hour, go to events, etc. The actual logistics of meeting people are only affected by the pandemic. Same with finishing early to go to an event. If I wanted to stay out late on a Tuesday for some reason, I could just start work later on Wednesday morning. When Covid wasn't a thing, my social life was actually better than ppl who worked in office. Over time, you build a rapport with certain people, no different than in person. So I might ask about the weather where they live or how they spent their weekend, etc. When I start working with someone new, I ask them a different question at the top of each meeting to break the ice and get to know them. I personally love this because I'm a driven person, but I understand why some people prefer the structure of the office. Your boss or coworkers won't always know what you're up so if you are in a leadership role or some other role where your output matters, you have to create your own schedule and workflow since wfh hours tend to vary. The main thing it requires is discipline. I like to work and in most cases, "friends" at work are more of a liability than an asset for a Black woman so I keep it polite and keep it moving. Like the PP, I'm good on all the office politics and BS. I absolutely love it! I've been WFH most of my career, and it's a perfect fit for my personality. She used to say that she missed human interaction in the workplace. I had a coworker like that, she used to call me everyday during work and after. Being remote shouldn't affect that unless you're the type of person that really craves other people in your space and life. If you're looking to socialize though, I'm sure there's plenty of things you can get involved with as soon as you're done working for the day or on weekends. I built relationships with my team during lockdown as I was new to the group but the company does a LOT of team stuff so it's not like we're silo'd. I don't really care to socialize or network anymore, at this point of my life so this is perfect for me. I'm an empty nester so I have adult children but I'm home alone most of the time. (We were on 0-1 day per week before the pandemic) Didn't realize how long it's been until I started this reply! I personally love it and prefer it and already decided that if my current employer tries to force us back into the office, I'm leaving for another company. I've been from fully remote from 75-100% for nearly 10 years. What do you do to get out of the house when you wfh? How do you meet people on a personal level while wfh? How do you build and manage work relationships while wfh? I live in a low key suburban area about 35 miles from the city center where I would work and be out and about to meet people. I would have to figure out how to meet people and be social while wfh. I'm single so I live alone however, I'm looking and open for a mate. I'm more concerned about socializing on a personal level. The difference between the two situations is that I had already built those relationships at my current employer and my current employer has a location in my area. I've been wfh since early 2020 for my current employer so I'm setup for wfh and I'm use to it. I am concerned about building relationships and feeling like part of a team. The company is located in another state and there is no presence in my area. I'm in the process of weighing a fully remote position.
